Meet the Team
Jeannette Martens | Owner | Contractor
Jeannette has lived in East Jefferson County most of her life. Learning, listening and understanding the ecology here is her passion. She manages, creates all the designs and juggles the inner workings of Wild Brassica. When she has free time, she spends it in her own gardens with her two cats Daphne & Prunella, adventuring into the wild, foraging food and medicine, fermenting, crafting and rock hounding. You can sometimes find her helping feed the community or fire dancing at various local events.
Blake | Landscape Manager
Originally from California, Blake has worked in cannabis production and organic vegetable farming before joining Wild Brassica in 2025. Blake manages all of Wild Brassica’s maintenance accounts and leads the crew on new landscape installations. Standing at six foot-four he’s the right guy for a tall order. When Blake is not working he enjoys surfing the coast and adventuring with his dog Ruby Tuesday.
Nash | Landscaping
Nash has always been fascinated with the magnificent flora and fauna of this Earth.
Being able to make a career with the passion of working with nature has been an amazing opportunity. Nash has been working in organic landscape construction and restoration since 2017.
Sheffield has over 20 years of experience in the building industry, from boat building to high end customs homes, he is known for his skill in digging big holes and solving complex carpentry problems. In recent years he co-managed the completion of the “Windship house” often referred to as the “spaceship house” on Morgan Hill. He divides his time between working at Wild Brassica and enjoying life with his wife, two children, pets and a large number of houseplants.

Phin | Carpentry Lead
Enjoys problem solving and gets fulfillment in building high quality structures to improve clients' outdoor living spaces. Phin got into carpentry because he loves the challenge and craftsmanship of working with wood. When he’s not at work, you may find him enjoying music, at a trailhead, or spending time with community.
Ruby likes to greet our team members and clients with a friendly bark to say hello, she naps in the truck on rainy days and reminds us when it's break time. Ruby's favorite tool is shovel, she can be found eagerly awaiting its use to help dig holes. When not "working" Ruby can be found sunbathing, chasing bees and adventuring with her favorite human.
